UNIPORT Admission Screening Registration For 2016/2017 Resumes, Screening Date Announced


This is to inform aspirants of University of
Portharcourt (UNIPORT) that the
institution has resumed admission
screening exercise for 2016/2017.
In respect of the above subject, the University Management
has directed as follows:
1. Friday, 26th August to mid-night on Sunday, 4th
 September, 2016: Re-opening of the Portal for online
registration
2. Wednesday, 7th to Friday, 9th September, 2016:
Screening Exercise in the College of Health Sciences and
respective Faculties/School (the respective venues will be
published on the University website in due course and via
sms to candidates)
3. Documents Needed for Screening Exercise:
(i) A clear copy of the Photo card printed online
(ii) JAMB Original Result that nears candidates' passport
photograph. If you do not have this document, click here to
get yours
(iii) Original and photocopies of O'Level Examinations
Certificate(s) (WASCE,
GCE, NECO, NABTEB) Examination Slips for Candidates
awaiting results
(iv) Original and Photocopies of Birth Certificate/Age
Declaration
Candidates should note that Inconsistency in name or
picture on Photo Card will not be acceptable to the
University and may lead to disqualification of affected
candidates. Candidates' names on their O’ Level Certificates,
UTME results and other registration documents must be the
same.

UNIPORT Post HND B. Eng Admission List 2014/2015 Released




UNIPORT Post HND B. Eng admission list for 2014/2015 session is
out. Candidates that applied for admission into the programme being
studied at University Of Port Harcourt are hereby informed to check for
their names on the released admission list.


The management of the University Of Port Harcourt has announced the release of the admission list of students that have been offered provisional admission into the University’s Post Higher National Diploma (Post HND) Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng) programme. The admission list was released after it has been approved by appropriate authorities. The list has since approval been uploaded on the university web portal.

About
The Centre for  Information and  Telecommunication Engineering (CITE) is designed to be a specialized Information and Communication Technology   Centre (ICT) poised to bridging the  University –Industry Gap through result-oriented teaching, practical hands-on based training and problem-solving innovative Research. The Centre offers a conducive learning environment with ICT facilities. Students use industry software, case studies and undertake numerous industrial field visits to live telephone networks. The aim of this professional Master’s Degree programme is to provide graduates in engineering and physical sciences with broad based training required by ICT and Telecommunications companies.

Uniqueness of the Masters’ Programme:                                                                                                                                                           i. Award of M.Sc. Degree; and provision of opportunities for obtaining two-ICT Professional Certifications                                                      ii. Partnership between University of Port Harcourt (Nigeria) and Alcatel-Lucent.
Alcatel-Lucent is a leading Telecommunications equipment Vendor and Technologies implementer. Alcatel-Lucent is the major equipment Supplier to most of the Nigerian Telecom Service Operators.

Programme Duration
a) Full-Time Programme: It is designed to run for 12 calendar months with intensive training;
b) Weekend- Programme: It is designed to run for 100 weekends (Friday Afternoon; and Saturday, all day). Please Note: This Weekend programme is specially designed for full-time industry professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge.                                            

Successful students at the end of the programme shall receive a Masters’ Degree awarded by the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
Professional Certification: Students will be presented with the opportunity to sit for two professional ICT certifications: Alcatel-Lucent NRS1 Telecom Certification  & CCNA
Entry Requirements
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a  minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of  3.50  on a scale of 5.00  in any of the Engineering Fields, Computer Science, Mathematics/ Statistics, Physics, Physics- Electronic or any other related field . Please note:  Candidates with a CGPA of at least 3.00 on a scale of 5.00 with at least two years of relevant experience would also be considered.

Entrance Exam

Aptitude Test and Oral Interview to be held at 10am, Wednesday,August 28,2015.

2015/2016 Academic Session Admission Requirements ( uniport PUTME FRM OUT)








This is to inform the general public that sale of Application Forms for admission into the Part-Time Degree Programme of the College of Continuing Education, University of Port Harcourt for the 2015/2016 session has commenced. The following Pogrammes will be on offer during the session:

Part-Time Degree in the Faculties of Humanities, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences & Information Technology, and Management Sciences;

Holders of WAEC/SSCE, GCE ‘O’ Level or their equivalent with credit passes in five (5) relevant subjects, (including English and Mathematics) who have worked for not less than 4 years in relevant fields of application are eligible to apply.

The following subjects: Book Keeping, Business Studies, Typewriting, Secretarial Studies, Shorthand, Social Studies and Health Science, Food and Nutrition, and Home Economics are not acceptable.

Apply For UNIPORT Master of Public Administration (MPA) Degree Programme 2015/2016

UNIPORT Master Of Public Administration (MPA) programme
admission form for 2015/2016 session is now available on sale.

Interested members of the public interested in the University Of Port
Harcourt postgraduate programme are hereby informed to purchase
their forms as the closing date of application has been announced.






The UNIPORT Claude Ake School Of Government offers Executive Master of Public Administration (MPA) Degree, which aims at improving the administrative and analytical skills of mid-career officers in the private and public sectors, who Have had several years of practical experience, so that they easily reach the higher levels in administration and management, and also offer higher value in services to their employers and the general public. The School hereby invites applications into the MPA Degree Programme for 2015/2016 session.

Admission Requirements/Eligibilty
Candidates for admission into MPA Degree Programme shall be:
  1. A graduate of the University of Port Harcourt; or
  2. A graduate of any other recognized University; or
  3. A person who hold a recognized qualification approved by the Senate of the University of Port Harcourt.
The applicant’s first degree shall be at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division), with a CGPA of not less than 3.0 on a scale 5, or 5.0 on a scale of 7. However, candidates with Third Class or Pass Degree classifications, or those whose degrees are not normally classified, may be considered, provided such candidates have been in relevant employment for not less than five(5) years for those with Third class, or seven(7) years for those with Pass Degrees, from the date of their graduation.

Duration

The duration of the Executive MPA programme is twelve(12) calendar months, consisting of two semesters and field research/report writing and presentation period.

Method Of Application


Interested applicants are to pay a A non-refundable Application Fee of N30,000.00 (thirty thousand naira) in certified Bank Draft to the Claude Ake School of Government, Uniport. The completed Application Forms should be submitted with the Bank Draft at the Claude Ake School, Uniport ,at 14 William Jumbo Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt, or be sent by courier service with a pre-paid FedEx self-addressed envelop for acknowledgement.
Application Form can be obtained from the Claude Ake School, or be downloaded from the Website.
  • Application Forms and the Reference can be obtained on-line, or from the Office of the Director, Claude Ake School of Government.
  • Completed Application Forms and three Reference Forms must be returned to the Director, Claude Ake School of Government, 14 William Jumbo Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt, four weeks from the date of this publication.
  • Oral interview will hold on a date to be communicated to applicants by email.
  • Sponsorship: Candidates are encouraged to seek sponsorship from employers and corporate bodies.

UNIPORT Approves Removal Of 50% Tuition Surcharges, New Registration Procedures







The University Of Port Harcourt Senate at its  405th Meeting [Extraordinary] held on Wednesday, 8th April, 2015, received and considered a submission from the Dean, Student Affairs, Prof. A. O. Efemini on the above subject matter.
After an exhaustive deliberation on the matter, Senate approved as follows:
I. Abolition of 50% surcharge on school charges;
Ii. Students will be required to register online and print out their course registration forms at the beginning of each session;
Iii. Students will also be required to submit 3 copies of the registration forms to their departments;
Iv. The department will in turn forward one copy of each form to the faculty officer and office of the director, academic affairs;
V. Each unit must maintain a file for each student and must be referred to when necessary to resolve issues of students’ academic status;
Vi. For the avoidance of doubt only students who comply with instruction (ii) and (iii) should be treated as students for the academic session concerned;
Vii. Students who fail to register at the beginning of each session shall roll over to the next session and such students will be required to apply for temporary withdrawal from study (application for temporary withdrawal from study is for one year in the first instance and thereafter renewable for another one year only,subject to compliance with the maximum length of time allowed for the programme of study as stipulated in the statement of academic policies of the university);
Viii. Any staff who aids any student to breach this procedure shall face appropriate sanctions;
Ix. Implementation should commence immediately (2014/2015 session).
The above decision of senate is hereby conveyed to you for necessary action, all students of the university should take note.
