UNILAG New Sanctions/Penalties For Examination Malpractice

The Senate of the University of Lagos has released approved penalties and sanctions for various cases of examination misconduct as well as instructions to guide students conduct during examinations.

All Deans and Heads of Departments are requested to kindly bring this information to the attention of their students.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

1.Candidates must attend a minimum of 65% of the lectures for the course; examiners have the right to prevent defaulters from sitting for the examinations.

2.Candidates must be ready to enter the examination hall ten minutes before the time the examination is due to start. Candidates who arrive more than half an hour after an examination has started shall be admitted only at the discretion of the invigilator(s).

3. Candidates may not leave the hall during the examination.

4. Candidates must come with their own writing materials to the examination hall.

5. Communication between candidates is strictly forbidden.

6. The only permissible way of attracting the attention of the invigilator is by the raising of hand.

7. All rough work must be done in the answer booklets and crossed neatly throughout.

8. Candidates are to write legibly. Names are not to be written on the answer booklets. The answers to each question must be started on a separate page.

9. Attendance register is to be signed at the commencement of the examination and as each candidate hands in the script to the invigilator.

10. Candidates must ensure that they have inserted at the appropriate places on the front cover of their booklets, their matriculation numbers and the number of questions answered.

11. Mobile phones must be motivator switched off in examination hall.

Candidates are hereby informed that any student caught or implicated in any act of misconduct would automatically cease to continue with the examination until the case has been declared. The following prescribed penalties will be imposed on anyone cause committing the under listed acts of misconduct. No plea will be entertained.

14 Unauthorised communication 1st Time; Warning 2nd Time; Rustication(1 Semester)
15. Disruptive Behaviour 1st Time; Warning 2nd Time; Rustication(1 Semester).
16. Influencing Examination Official 1st Time; Warning 2nd Time; Rustication(1 Semester)
17. Unauthorised Changing of Sitting Position 1st Time; Warning 2nd Time; Rustication(1 Semester)
18. Disobeying Examination Instructions 1st Time; Warning 2nd Time;Rustication(1 Semester)
19. Other related acts of Examination Misconduct not specifically stated Penalty shall be determined by the Misconduct Panel.

UNILAG Postgraduate Admission 2015/2016 Application Ongoing






UNILAG Postgraduate programme application form for 2015/2016 academic session is now available on sale. Interested members of the public that wish to apply for admission into the University Of Lagos School Of Graduate Studies are hereby informed.

The School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos (UNILAG) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates from recognized institutions for admission into Postgraduate programmes for 2015/2016 Academic Session.
Postgraduate Programmes:
1) Postgraduate Diploma Programmes (PGD).
2) Masters Degree Programmes (i.e. M.Sc., M.Ed., M.A., LL.M, etc).
3) Professional Masters Degree Programmes (i.e. MBA, MILD, MILR, MPH, MDSS, MPIA, MPA, MGIS, etc).
4) Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes.
5) There is flexibility in the mode of study with Full-Time, Part-Time, Executive and Sandwich options as applicable.

Method Of Application

Candidates that wish to apply should visit the School of Postgraduate Studies website: http://spgs.unilag.edu.ng, click the “2015/2016 Application” Link for full information on the Application.
They are to make a payment of N22, 500 only application form fee through any branch of:
  • ACCESS BANK Plc,
  • ECOBANK Plc,
  • FIRST BANK Plc,
  • GUARANTY TRUST BANK Plc,
  • UNION BANK Plc,
  • UBA Plc,
  • WEMA BANK Plc, and
  • ZENITH BANK Plc.
IMPORTANT
i. Candidates are advised to read carefully the requirements for their desired programmes to confirm eligibility.
ii. Applicants are advised to check the available programmes online before applying.
iii. Candidates awaiting Bachelor’s degree results and Nigerian citizens who have not completed the National Youth Service Corps assignments or are currently undergoing Postgraduate programmes are not eligible.
iv. Holders of Degrees obtained from Outreach/Satellite campuses are not eligible.
v. Every applicant is required to upload all certificates listed in the application form, such as: Degree Certificates (Not Statement of Results), NYSC Certificate and Professional Certificates.
vi. All Academic Transcripts must reach the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies on or before the beginning of registration.
vii. All M.Phil/Ph.D. candidates are required to contact the relevant department for availability of Supervisors/vacancies before applying.

7. Applicants will be required to print the completed Application Form and Photo Card. These will be required for submission at the examination/interview venue.
8. Candidates are required to LAMINATE their Photo Card after printing.

Application Deadline

Sale of Application Forms begins on Monday, June 8 and ends on Friday, July 31, 2015.
Completed Application Forms are to be submitted online not later than Friday, August 7, 2015.

UNILAG Issuance of Call-up Letters to Batch "A" 2015 Prospective Corps Members is on







The issuance of call-up letters for the Batch 'A', 2015 National Youth
Service Corps (NYSC) Mobilisation Exercise has commenced.

The call-up letters will be issued at the faculties by faculty officers,
upon presentation of Identification Letters and Statement of Results/
Certificates.

All prospective corps-members are therefore advised to obtain their
call-up letters from their respective faculties.

University of Lagos, UNILAG newly elected students’ union executive committee for the 2014/2015 academic session

Authorities of the University of Lagos have sworn-in the newly elected
members of the UNILAG Students’ Union executive committee. The
Swearing-in Ceremony was held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 in
the University’s Main Auditorium, Akoka.
Below are the profiles of the twelve (12) students who emerged
members of the ULSU Ex-Co after an election that was held on
Thursday, March 26, 2015:

admitted into the Department of Science and Technology Education,
University of Lagos in 2012.

ULSU VICE-PRESIDENT I: Mr. AKINSULIRE , Bisoye Olaniyi with
Matriculation No. 090705035, was born on June 24, 1987. He
attended Saint Joseph’s College, Ondo State. He was admitted into
the Department of Medicine and Surgery, College of Medicine,
University of Lagos in 2009.

ULSU GENERAL SECRETARY: Mr. BABALOLA , Olufemi Paul with
Matriculation No. 100502022, was born on December 10, 1984 He
attended Anwar-ul Islam Model College Agege, Lagos. Mr. Babalola
was admitted into the Department of Estate Management, University of
Lagos in 2010.

ULSU ASST. GENERAL SECRETARY: Mr. BELLO , Olasunkanmi Tunji,
with Matriculation No. 120323006, was born on December 5, 1988.
He attended Ajayi Crowther Memorial Senior Secondary School,
Bariga, Lagos. He was admitted into the Department of Arts and Social
Sciences Education, University of Lagos in 2012.

ULSU PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER: Mr. ADEGUNOYE, Olakunle
Charles with Matriculation No. 110311003, was born on August 22,
1993. He attended Adeyemi Demonstration Secondary School, Ondo
State. He was admitted into the Department of Science and
Technology Education, University of Lagos in 2011.

ULSU WELFARE SECRETARY I: Mr. OLANISIMI , Oluwatobi Emmanuel,
with Matriculation No. 110905097, was born on April 17, 1989. He
attended Roseville College and Holy Blessing College. He was
admitted into the Department of Sociology, University of Lagos in
2011.

ULSU WELFARE SECRETARY II: Mr. MUSTAPHA , Lekan Junior, with
Matriculation No. 100701033, was born on January 1, 1991. He
attended Ideal Comprehensive High School, Ajangbadi, Lagos. He was
admitted into the Department of Dentistry and Dental Surgery,
University of Lagos in 2010.

ULSU FINANCIAL SECRETARY: Mr. OGUNTOLA, Enitan Abayomi, with
Matriculation No. 110901123, was born on March 16, 1991. He
attended Normal College, Ogba, Lagos. He was admitted into the
Department of Economics, University of Lagos in 2011.

ULSU TREASURER: Mr. SULEIMON, Taiwo Adeola, with Matriculation
No. 100406047, was born on2nd February, 1982. He attended
Polytechnic High School, Ijokodo, Ibadan, Oyo State. He was
admitted into the Department of Metallurgical and Materials
Engineering, University of Lagos in 2010.

ULSU SOCIAL SECRETARY: Mr. OPADOJA, Micheal Olamide, with
Matriculation No. 11904104, was born on June 16, 1991. He attended
Ajayi Crowther Memorial Senior Grammar School, Akoka, Bariga,
Lagos. He was admitted into the Department of Psychology,
University of Lagos in 2012.

ULSU SPORTS SECRETARY: Miss ETIAKA, A. Stephanie, with
Matriculation No. 110203206, was born on June 7, 1987. She
attended El-crystal Star College, Igando, Lagos State. She was
admitted into the Faculty of Business Administration, University of
Lagos in 2011.

ULSU INTERNAL AUDITOR: Mr. JAMES , John with Matriculation No.
110201120, was born on December 27, 1987. He attended Fafunwa
Millenium Senior Secondary School, Lagos. He was admitted into the
Department of Accounting, University of Lagos in 2011.s

Authorities of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) warned students of the
institution to ignore any individual who demands for cash to upgrade
their scores/results or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

Anyone that promises a student such favour is a FRAUDSTER.

PLEASE NOTE that the university has zero-tolerance for payment to
upgrade scores/results. In-case you are approached for such, please
report it to the Dean, Students’ Affairs Division OR Security Unit.
